Sunday, October 13
10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Introduction to Kumihimo Braiding (Make a braided bracelet)
12:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Introduction to Brick Stitch (Make a pair of earrings)
2:30 p.m. - 4:00p.m. Open Advice Session (Bring your problem projects)

Class Fee: $5.00 to be paid at registration table
Materials: You may bring your own materials (check back soon for materials lists for each class), purchase materials from our vendors, or you may purchase a 'kit' from the instructor for $5.00 during the class.
Tools: Tools will be available for your use in class.

Introduction to Peyote Stitch

Teacher: Marilyn Grock

We will make a cuff bracelet using Peyote stitch.

Feel free to bring your own materials if you wish; refer to the kit materials noted below.

Optional kit materials: 1 tube each of cylindrical seed beads in contrasting colors; one 3-strand tube clasp (or any style clasp). Note on seed beads: Suggest size 8° Delicas or #3 Toho Treasures, though any size cylindrical bead will work well. Keep in mind that the smaller the bead (and higher the number), the longer it will take to produce your bracelet, and the smaller the bracelet width will be. Rounds with 'inside color' like silver-lined or 'white inside' will also work, and any size 8° seed bead as well. ($5.00 kit fee to be paid to Marilyn at time of class.)

Materials available for your use during class: Fireline thread, cutters, needles, and a beading mat


1:00 P.m.-2:30 p.m.  Introduction to WIRE WRAPPING      Teacher: mERLE sHERMAN

Introduction to Wire Wrapping

Teacher: Merle Sherman

We will make earrings and/or zipper pulls, learning wire-wrapping skills.

Feel free to bring your own materials if you wish; refer to the kit materials noted below.

Optional kit materials: 24g craft wire, misc. beads of various sizes, head pins (bring extra for practice), a pair of ear wires. Merle will provide hooks for zipper pulls. ($5.00 kit fee to be paid to Merle at the time of class).

Wire-wrapping tools will be available for your use.


3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Introduction to Bead Stringing  (Make a bracelet or necklace) TEACHER: LYNN DYER

Introduction to Bead Stringing

Teacher: Lynn Dyer

We will make a bracelet, learning to string beads, crimp, and attach a clasp.

Feel free to bring your own materials if you wish; refer to the kit materials noted below.

Optional kit materials: Beads to make a bracelet when they are lined up next to each other (6-7”), bead stringing wire, crimp tubes, clasp. ($5.00 kit fee to be paid to Lynn at the time of class.)

Tools including crimping pliers will be available for your use.

Introduction to Kumihimo

We will make a braided bracelet with satin cord. Many options of color and thickness will be available for the kit, or bring your own satin cord, just no larger than 2mm in diameter.

Feel free to bring your own materials if you wish; refer to the kit materials noted below and include a round disk.

Optional kit materials: your choice of satin cord (rattail) in diameters of 1mm, 1.5mm, or 2mm, one round mini Kumihimo foam disc, 2 end caps, a clasp, and jump rings as needed. Experienced braiders may add size 6° seed beads to thinest satin cording. ($5.00 kit fee to be paid to Judy at the time of class).

Equipment available for your use: eight Kumihimo bobbins, 45g weight, scissors, thread, glue.


12:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Introduction to Brick Stitch     Teacher: Carolyn Snell

We will stitch a pair of triangle earrings using 11° Delica beads in 2 colors plus 11° round seed beads for accent/fringe, needle and thread

Feel free to bring your own materials if you wish; refer to the kit materials noted below, and include size D beading thread, and a size 12 needle.

Optional kit materials: 120 Delica 11° Dark red (Color A), 50 Delica 11° Bronze (Color B), and 50 Czech Beads 11° Bronze (Color C) for picot at bottom of earring, pair of ear wires, needle and thread. ($5.00 kit fee to be paid to Carolyn at the time of class).

Scissors and needle-nose pliers will be available for use.
