Judy Walker workshops - June 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 2018
We are excited to be hosting three days of classes with Judy Walker, June 22, 23 & 24. She is a wonderful instructor with a great sense of humor! She has taught across the US, and at Bead & Button for many years. She and her husband published her book, “The Beaded Sphere”, which opened a whole new world of dimensional beadwork to seed beaders. Beginning and advanced beaders will benefit from her classes. Come join the fun!
Tropical Ruffle
Tropical Ruffle Necklace
I will teach a variation of this necklace first in class – a single beaded ruffled bead, which will teach all the techniques needed for the full necklace. I’ll demonstrate everything that makes the full necklace different from the beaded bead. At bead shows, I normally either require homework, or provide a pre-beaded 6” tube of ndbele stitch for the students to continue beading on. I don’t think that’s a good idea for this class, and having people bring their own materials will slow things down a lot for our limited time available. The materials for the small beaded bead, in the same colors as the Tropical Ruffle Necklace, will be included in the price of the class – no extra charge. With the materials from the small beaded bead, students can shop for their own size 11/0 beads to get the same effect if they don’t want to buy a kit.

Beaded Lace
A continuous chain of beaded lace can be made, or an amazing beaded fabric, all built on a brick stitch foundation. We will make a single, beaded strip of lace in class, which will make a lovely bracelet. If you like, bring a bracelet clasp, although we may not finish the project in class. We will also discuss how to make multiple rows of lace.

Tigress Lariat
Tigress Lariat Necklace
A free-form tiger stripe necklace with fabulous spiral fringe to show off a collection of treasures. A hidden pair of magnets cleverly hold the necklace in place without a clasp.
