My goal was to present something I had not seen before to illustrate by 'animal within'. I chose to use a book safe for my covering of said animal.

I used techniques to suggest a night sky with a bead woven cave, sewn rose montees for stars, and other bead embellishments to suggest flowers and shrubs near the cave. Peeping out from inside the cave is the hidden animal. The larger montees represent the Lupus constellation.

No small feat was covering the very brittle book safe with fabric. Not perfect for technical reasons, so open gently and see what's inside.
